The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has expanded its warning in connection with over -the -counter eye products (OTC), which were made by Global Pharma Healthcare Private Limited.
The agency now includes the artificial eye ointment of Delam Pharma on the list of products “do not buy” due to a possible bacterial contamination. At the beginning of this month, Global Pharma Healthcare announced a nationwide recall of his artificial tear lubricant drops that were distributed by Ezricare, LLC and Delsam Pharma.
The callback was issued after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had announced its investigation into a multi-state cluster of Verona integrone-mediated metallo-β-lactamase and guiana-frequency-β-lactamase-producing carbapenem resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections connected to these products.
In undesirable events in connection with the use of these products, hospital stays, permanent visual loss due to eye infections and even death due to a bloodstream infection. The latest CDC analysis confirms the connection between Ezricare artistic tears and 56 infections in 12 countries.
According to the FDA, Global Pharma Healthcare has agreed to remember Delsam Pharma’s artificial eye ointment.
